The PEAs in PODS meeting we have regular virtual and in person meetings with the core research team.
The focus of the meeting on December 6th was “Planning for PEAs Training Sessions”. Noisy Cricket did an excellent job of creating a Miro board to help us explore the challenges and opportunities in delivering effective training. Miro boards are a relatively new tool for me but they allow multiple interactions and activities in a shared space. The challenge is that they contain a lot of information and sometimes, it is easy to get lost! One of the main takeaways from the session was the realisation that the more we delve into the project, the more complex it becomes. Although the focus was on PEAs training, we discussed the challenges of delivering training to communities on Data, AI, and responsible technology, including power sharing, building confidence, inclusive versus patronising training, and barriers to engagement. The session also raised questions about unconscious bias and the impact of past experiences on the way PEAS engage with communities.
